The Taste and The Touch Kamote Review of ASUS EEEPC T101 Multi Touch
The EEEPC T101 is not just a netbook with a touchscreen, but a device with a combination of solid ergonomics and performance in clamshell mode that can swivel into a really responsive tablet, that is the first netvertible to go MULTI-TOUCH.
Design
A convertible brick. It is shaped like a chopping board, with a twist and turn it transforms into a tablet pc, another twist it transforms into a netbook, and another twist turns back into a portable chopping board. The good point about the design is people will think that it is not worth stealing.
The Touch
The touchscreen is responsive and comes with a stylus which is a great help for people with large fingers considering that we only have a 10.1 inch screen to play with and Windows 7 has small icons.
The digital touch calibration is a miss, you always miss one point in the calibration which messes up the touch experience. Sometimes I find myself off axis so I had to adjust my sitting position.
Asus probably had their reasons but the first netbook/tablet to go multi-touch is also the first not to support multi-touch. Why? It's because the pre-installed Windows 7 doesn't support multi-touch, but the good thing is that EEEPC T101 has a DUAL OS, the other OS does support multi-touch.
The Press
The T101MT has the matte, chiclet keyboard, which has thankfully is very ergonomical. Overall, it's fairly comfortable, though the shrunken right Shift key caused us to mistakenly hit some other keys at times. The touchpad is responsive as with other netbooks, it is large and navigation on pages is no problem with the multi-touch.
Battery Life would Even Outlast your Workmate |
Performance and Battery Life
With all the hardware requirements of a multi-touch capable netvertible tablet/netbook you might expect it to as slow as a decade old computer running Windows 7, well no, its quite fast. The T101MT's 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor and 1GB of memory provided adequate performance even with 6 applications running and it is in tablet mode.
The battery life goes beyond the life of a four cell battery lasting for 6.5 hours. I tried watching movies while downloading from the internet and it still lasted for four hours and 35 minutes.
In Summary
In today's market of portable gadgets, this is probably on top of the food chain in its category. Compared to Lenovo's IdeaPad S10-3t the EEEPC T101 is awesome.
The ASUS EEPC T101MT comes bundled with an ASUS External Slim DVD-RW |

Fallen Angel
Fallen Angel
Like any other story, once upon a time there was an angel who was staring altruistically to a human below, for years she had been staring at the apathetic human.
"What is this I feel?" kept asking the angel, there is no concept of time in an angel, time never mattered in eternity. She just kept staring at the human.
She then decided to go down to earth but, angels loose there wings when they decide to go down to earth, to gain it back they must become divine, not just a celestial being.
She met the human, and then she knew she was a fallen angel. an "Angel Fallen in Love". This is love, love she felt all along. But the human was was apathetic, an angel and a human together is not possible.
It was then that the angel grew back her wings, she is now divine, it was love that makes angel divine. Though she is back in heaven she will always be a "Fallen Angel", an Angel fallen in Love.
Then the man asked "What part am I to play?, Why are you leaving me? Why is this pain I feel?"
Memory
by SugarCult
This may never start
We could fall apart
And I'd be your memory
Lost your sense of fear
Feelings insincere
Can I be your memory?
So get back, back, back to where we lasted
Just like I imagine
I could never feel this way
So get back, back, back to the disaster
My heart's beating faster
Holding on to feel the same
This may never start
I'll tear us apart
Can I be your enemy
Losing half a year
Waiting for you here
I'd be your anything
So get back, back, back to where we lasted
Just like I imagine
I could never feel this way
So get back, back, back to the disaster
My heart's beating faster
Holding on to feel the same
This may never start
Tearing out my heart
And I'd be your memory
Lost your sense of fear
Feelings disappear
Can I be your memory?
So get back, back, back to where we lasted,
Just like I imagine
I could never feel this way,
So get back, back, back to the disaster
My heart's beating faster
Holding on to feel the same
This may never start
We could fall apart
And I'd be your memory
Lost your sense of fear
Feelings insincere.
Can I be your memory?
If a song could make you melancholic and overjoyed at the same time it would be "Memory" by Sugarcult. It is a song based on lyrical perspective more than melody yet the songs seemed to flow like lyrics and melody are dancing.
It is based on a daydream about someone whom you thought would be someone you could be with but you'd always end up thinking that everything would not work out. "This may never start, we could fall apart", all they have left is their memory of something that never really was real. In order to save what is left they would have to hate each other or continue living a lie "This may never start I'll tear us apart, can I be your Enemy?". The chorus would then reassure that it was a fictitious relationship, as their bond slowly disappears all they could do is go back, back, back to where they lasted, back, back, back to the disaster holding on to feel the same.
"I grabbed my acoustic guitar and started strumming chords. The song was hatched. The first chord I strum is a "D" and the second an odd "E". I use my third finger on the "A" string and pinky on "D"."
I would contradict this song with a quote from Final Fantasy X by Waka who said "Memories are nice but that is what they will always be."
Watch the awesome video of stickmen rocking, who would have thought stickmen could have so much emotion. Watch the video over and over again. "Memory" by Sugarcult, I like this better than the version where the real band plays.
