Worst Flood in Olongapo History

Just days before the BlackBerry Jam Asia

Just a typical Sunday when 9pm, it started raining, by midnight the rain hasn't stopped, it continued until morning and came the worst flood in Olongapo history

 We thought we were prepared because this has happened before, our flood ready laboratories didn't survive and would take months, even years to recover, computers are very expensive.

 Our BlackBerry devices given by the BlackBerry Academic Program all sunk in the flood, including our priced BlackBerry Z10 Limited Edition Devices and hard earned Dev Alpha C.

It breaks my heart to see, I feel nauseated as I look at the damage the flood has caused.|

We are asking for help from people who willing to help us recover from this.


We lost everything, our testing devices provided by BlackBerry and even our Laboratories were devastated by the flood.

Our school is in need, those who are enthusiastic to join the clean up drive to replenish our school facilities, please do come tomorrow at 8 AM.

Shotgun Invite for BAP

July 30 - August 1, 2013 the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators in Region II, invited me to give a talk on Game Development on Webworks

It was a shotgun invite, I was called 11:00 am. What they didn't mention was it was a 14 hour travel. A 14 hour travel. A 14 hour travel. I would repeat that over and over because it took me half a day to go to the event area.

The event was well attended by representatives by different schools in region II.

It was the first time they heard of the BlackBerry Academic Program.

Their curiosity was insatiable. I would like like to thank them for giving me a great time teaching  them.

ABSTRACT:
BlackBerry Game Development: Using Open HTML5 Technology

Games made using the native programming language are more preferred by developers for a lot of reasons. The goal of this thesis has been to get an insight in handheld software development - and the BlackBerry in particular - including a show of the capability of HTML5 in producing games in the same level as those made using native or even Flash. This thesis would like to show an easy to learn and powerful development language for mobile computing, as an alternative to the native language. To achieve this, HTML5 was used such as canvas, localstorage, audio, and JSON.
