It has been a year of blood, sweat, and tears

It surely wasn't what I had expected to hear.

I was hoping to hear "Are you sure, you did not escape from an insane asylum? Because you are obviously crazy about me"

A year of rejection for what I believe would change the world.

This is fine, because all great men have been rejected a hundred fold before they actually changed the world.

I am not yet done, no this is far from over.

A Hope for the Phoenix

Thursday, December 22, 2011

(from the children’s story book “A Hope for the Flowers”, please stop playing Tetris for awhile and read this wonderful book that celebrates HOPE, moving through seeming death to a new and more beautiful life, believe me when I say this book is better than random falling blocks)

I am inspired to write this article because it is Christmas Vacation and my brother is in front of the PS3 and I can’t play “Infamous”, so i went online but then I got tired of saying “Ang tagal naman dumating ng mahabang stick (Tetris)”

And… now to the story

A while ago I saw the GLITTER in the eyes of a team coordinator as she proudly presented and announced that she already had her cosplay made by her team, and I saw that three HANDSOME BUTTERFLIES helping out their team.

It was RAINING inside the office these past days and it was really dark that when I saw those three I smiled and felt that there is A Hope for the Phoenix, that these three fiery FEATHERS are doing something worthy to be part of the Phoenix, to keep the great legendary bird afloat. They have gained my admiration and it is right that their team adviser be proud of them, put them up the pedestal. They have separated themselves from the crowd of walking mannequins, aimlessly without goal and hollow, by doing what they can do and being together to keep our college above the clouds. This is the spirit of the Phoenix, we shine brightly above the clouds, shining over the darkness of blank blatantness.

In summary green team members, I will forever use you in my future sermons in the mountain where I will endlessly wait for the caterpillar to be a cocoon and be a butterfly… and for the humor of it… into a FROG to be kissed by a beautiful princess, to change into the LONG STICK… dahil kailangan ko na ng STICK at talo na ako (tetris)

Addicted to a PS3 game

I have too much of a back log in everything

Games
Movies
Writing

So today I write a thing about the game Infamous. In infamous you play as Cole, he gained super electrical powers after an explosion that wipes out an entire city. You then play a sandbox type of game jumping from building to building. This is just half the fun, the neat part of the game is your Karma, you get to choose where to use your powers, either for good or evil.

Like in a situation your jumping from building to building, you see a police station being attacked by a gang, you could choose to help the police or help the gang blow up the police station. and I choose to let them slug them out and I rule the city.

But some of the morality in the game, and their reasoning are questionable

Speaking of the Devil and Angel

Friday, October 28, 2011

Sometimes we think of something so hard they just come true, or you simply have a bad horoscope

Speaking of the Devil

Walking towards the mundane yet historic venue of mardigras, I was having a monologue (it was a dialogue three days ago but it just became a monologue after bringing it up like every hour) about a brute that said I was a lame, uninteresting, lifeless pedestrian. Avoiding all human contact in a mardigras was impossible, so, me and my friend took a detour, and look who I came face to face with, the brute in the flesh. I didn’t have time to think of a civilized dialogue, that is why I gave him the next best thing… a dirty hand salute. Dirty because I touched the handle bars of a certain 24 hour convenience store, that is just disgusting.

Speaking of the Angel

After leaving the mardigras which we did not dare enter (I would not pay just to get squashed) I was walking toward the bus station, at the pedestrian lane a cosplayer just popped into my head, with no reason whatsoever, she just popped into my head, it is not that I miss her or anything, it was a random daydream with no apparent or logical basis. A FEW SECONDS later THERE SHE WAS the cosplayer called out to me (she had bags which means she came away from a far away galaxy), and my first line to her was “I was just thinking about you”, which by some strange alignment of the stars, I was just thinking of the cosplayer… now that is just scary, if I were the cosplayer I would run. So she asked “Why?”, I just gave a lame reason that there was a cosplay tomorrow at the mardigras (half truth, obvious lie), but truth be told I wanted to say that I am a fanboy of hers, her wit, her i-don’t-give-a-damn-what-you-say attitude, her perfect nihongo accent, her will power, her enigma. I didn’t have time to think of a civilized dialogue, that is why I gave him the next best thing… a dirty hand salute. Dirty because I touched the handle bars of a certain 24 hour convenience store, that is just disgusting.

How to Sleep When Your Stressors Keep You Awake

taken from http://workawesome.com/productivity/how-to-sleep/

Stress and sleep don’t go together. After all, how often have you gone home, exhausted and eager to rest yet feeling overwhelmed by the number of tasks and problems that remain unachieved and unsolved? How to sleep when stress keeps us awake?
I admit that this happens to me often, especially during the peak of the workweek. Despite the fact that my body has been screaming for sleep, I just can’t do it, because my mind refuses to stop thinking about the things that I still have to do. A part of me even feels guilty about wanting to spend the time to sleep, instead of using it to finish any of my tasks.
During stressful times, the levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, are increased. The increase in levels gives one enough energy to respond to the stressor.
Yet, as we experience, high levels of cortisol brought about by excessive stress disturbs our sleep.

The Side-Effects of Sleeplessness

Understandably, with the busy schedules most of us have, getting sleep seems to be our last priority. There also seems to be a perception that sleep is unproductive. A lot of people think that if they want to finish their tasks on time, they have to delay sleep first.
However, work quality, health and safety are sacrificed. According to the National Sleep Foundation, lost sleep can lead to increased risk of vehicular accidents and health problems such as depression, diabetes and stroke.
Aside from accidents and illnesses, the lack of sleep also decreases one’s mental performance, energy and ability to pay attention and concentrate. This leads to an increased chance of making mistakes while on the job.
How can we be productive at work when we’re recuperating at a hospital or continually making errors because we’re not getting enough sleep? Apparently, getting enough sleep is the way to go.

How to Sleep Despite the Stress

Yet the problem of stress remains. Here’s how to sleep tight when the thoughts of our stressors continually invade our minds.
Based on my experience, I found the following tips helpful in getting a good night’s sleep:

1.    Avoid Coffee in the Afternoons

Coffee contains caffeine which gives us a boost, helping us to focus on our tasks at hand. However, caffeine often disrupts our sleep and also increases our stress levels. Since its effects could last from 3 to 12 hours, it’s advised that we drink our daily cups of coffee in the morning rather than in the afternoon.

2.    Create an Environment Conducive to Sleep

Before going to bed, make sure your bedroom is clean, cool, quiet and darkly lit. This is because a bright, dusty, noisy and hot room provides several distractions that often make sleep uncomfortable, causing the sleeper to wake up several times within the night. It’s always a good idea to clean your room regularly and to invest in heavy draperies that will block out any light from outside.
Also make sure that you have comfortable bed. Check if you need to buy a new mattress or pillows. These items are essential to your comfort in bed so always make sure that these items do not only provide cushioning, but also the proper support to your head, neck, back and legs.

3.    Stick to a Comfortable Bedtime Routine

A soothing bedtime routine can help you calm down and get ready for sleep. By unwinding, you are telling your body that it’s time to rest.
I usually start this by stopping any kind of work a 2 to 3 hours before my set bedtime. Next, I prefer taking a nice hot shower or bath to relax my muscles.
After bathing, I recommend that you take part in a relaxing activity. I usually read a magazine or book while I know some people who meditate or listen to soothing music instead.
Don’t watch television before bed. The visual images on the TV tend to stimulate the mind instead of helping it rest. If you really must catch your favorite primetime show, try recording it instead.

4.    Cater Your Stressors

Whenever I start to worry about the problems that I have to face the next day, I like to list them down and prepare a to-do list for each of them. After this, I usually take out my planner and spread the items on the to-do list throughout the week so that I’ll be able to do the items with enough reasonable time without missing any deadlines.
By preparing a plan for each of the stressors, I feel like I am able to do something about them. Through this, my mind is calmed down and less bothered, giving me the opportunity to enjoy a well-rested evening.

5.    Problems Cannot be Solved in One Day

I’ve noticed that people delay sleep because they believe that they could use the time finishing their work instead. In fact, I used to be one of them. Unfortunately, the guilt of not using the time to work also keeps us up at night—even when we actually want to sleep.
I soon started seeing the folly in this thinking wth the help of advice from close family members and friends.
I began to realize that rather than helping me do well in work, depriving myself of sleep has been actually negatively affecting my performance. I needed sleep to concentrate and make better decisions. More importantly, I realized I had to get ample sleep if I wanted to be healthy.
We cannot finish all our tasks in one day. So don’t overschedule. Spread your tasks out evenly in a week in such a way that you won’t overwork yourself or miss a deadline.

Better Sleep Equals Better Productivity

The tips above shouldn’t be hard to follow. The key thing to remember is that sleep is never unproductive. We should always get the proper amount if we want to stay healthy and to perform well at work.
So when your stressors start to invade your mind again and sleep becomes the last priority, remind yourself that proper sleep helps you solve your problems! You need rest to beat the stress!

Ramon Magsaysay Day

August 31, 2011

When I ride the jeep going home, I just say to the driver "Sa bahay ni Ramon Magsaysay (In the house of Ramon Magsaysay)" because we live near it. There are very few tourist that go here, I was once even a friend to the curator and he was very happy to get out of there. I wish that Filipinos find the value of knowing how one of the Philippine's best presidents lived. So I promise that one day I will also get to enter his house (ok I'm sorry I haven't actually been inside even though I pass by it everyday to work)

A story of a Dream Girl BUZZKILL

There she was the girl of my dreams, everything about her is what I always wanted.

She asked me to listen to her tunes, she gets the right earphone, I get the left.

I am so shocked and totally astounded as one METAL band plays after another. I am so convinced she is my dream girl.

"Cariño Brutal" by Slapshock plays, she sings along... my heart beats faster, she IS THE ONE.

after the song of Slapshock, we both commented how heavy the band was, and she said "yeah that song by WOLFGANG is really great".

Shattered, my dreams crashed.

It is not true that I haven't written in a while. In fact I have written so much that it is taking all of me not to be dragged off by my imagination into a state of perpetual delirium from which I may not recover. I fear for my mental state, in the imaginary sense of way. My line is not "I see dead people" but "I see imaginary characters". Must be from my  love of insomnia and coffee; a deadly tandem.

I am being torn from reality yet I can see things in a clearer perspective, I can see things I don't see before. Daydreaming by day and awake at night. The silence of the night is my realm, within it I am a king. Sandman is my friend.

I am tempted to keep this mental state of mine. I will keep the door closed, because I might be letting the darkness out.
