My 2009 Summarized in a Recollection of the Best Rizal Day I Ever Had

Saturday, January 2, 2010

When I was at a Seminary, Fr. Bob, the voice talent behind "Big Bert" of Voltes 5 in 1978 (yes a seiyu(anime voice actor) priest was one my mentor) told me to draw a tree, then told me to recall every blessing I got from God. Then for every blessing I got he said I should draw a fruit on my tree.

I drew 12 fruits which had the shape of a banana and the color of an apple. I drew 12, maybe one blessing per month wasn't too bad to be thankful for the Lord. My seiyu priest mentor wasn't impressed and asked me something that made me draw fruits from root to tip of my cloud looking tree.

(continued on the last part of this post)

(Our Magic Fruit finally bear fruit. Magic Fruit (Lo Han Kuo) turns sour to sweet. Lo Han Kuo is 250 times sweeter than refined sugar without the calories. This is way cool, eat a magic fruit first then eat a sour mango, the sour mango will be sweet. It is unfortunate though that our magic fruit has only two visible fruits as of now. They become black in color once ripe. I had a magic fruit in 2009, but it wasn't enough to sweeten all the sour fruit I was force to eat.)

(I started the day with a jog around the neigborhood, I took a shot of the roof of our house and the roof of the church just beside our house... I never missed a "Dawn Mask" even while lying in my bed)

December 30, 2009 marks a lot
  • The Magic Fruit bear fruits (two)
  • Mamang's 40th day of death
  • Rizal Day
  • A day before the end of the year
  • Salary Day
I'm going to give a cash prize who can give me a reference from the bible of the why Filipinos celebrate the 40th day of death.

(The family begins the occassion with the occassional animal sacrifice, an animal of titanic proportions, the stuff sea monster myths are made of... the mythological giant squid "Architeuthis", this babies can take down a sperm whale (their favorite meal) in a head to tentacle(s) combat. I sacrificed a lot in 2009, I sacrifice a life. Sometimes you sacrifice for something better, sometimes you just sacrifice for nothing.)

Ohana means family and we must be thankful that we we one blood related or not.

A ride at the back of Papang's Adventure.

I had been watching the Rizal Day parade since I was in my diaper, but nothing compared to the fun I had with these guys. The parade was from 1pm to 7pm but that never mattered, 2009 with felt like a day.

Reminds me of the Manny Villar Commercial hehe. Accross this bridge is the hospital I spent a great part of my 2009.

I rode a float which I assigned to visualize, and thats what I did just visualize. People come, people go. People are people. I am so lucky I am an Alien Life Form. The float ride was awkard, I was part of a float that I was suppose to design and what made it worst is that my wiffy didn't even dare talk to me, or even look, or even say goodbye.

After the parade there was the second Otaku Maru. 2009 I got Ani from an anime related contest and I also ventured on Cosplay which gave me a new perspective on world domination. I am not a monster, you raised me to a higher pedastal. Your aperse was utter fail.

(continued from first part of my post)

Fr. Bob asked me "Don't you feel every heart beat? Don't feel every second of it makes you alive? Don't you think you should be thankful for the Lord for every heart beat?"

Amen.

Fr. Bob told me that my love for the art of anime and how people view my love for it should not be a hinder to the person I am supposed to be.

The last time I remembered being with Fr. Bob was I helped him in a signature campaign to shut down a piggery.

And who is this Fr. Bob you speak of? Could I get an autograph? Or maybe tips on how to become a seiiyu?

I think it was luck because in 1978 anime wasn't known in the Philippines and media people couldn't get a job so there he was
